No, not the next project, as the current one is moving at too much of snail’s pace to warrant the start of another one. I mean NEXT PLUS.
As in this…
This would be Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam NEXT PLUS the PSP. Picked it up for $75 at this most awesome of game shops in Chinatown on Sunday. They stock the latest titles from Japan, including MSG Battlefield Report 0081 for the PS3, Gundam 00: Gundam Meisters for the PS2, they even had old Dreamcast & N64 games!
Anyways, the game has a decent learning curve, especially since I’m no good at reading Japanese. But once I got the controls down, things became manageable. I won’t go into detail on the game yet, but here’s what I can tell you from having played it most of Monday…
-Force Impulse is a DAMN good Gundam
-You’re bound to lose the same fight a couple times before you pwn. That’s what happened when I beat down Virtue, Nadleeh(sp?), 00-Raiser (!!!), and Exia. All with God Gundam (with the RX-78 for a partner no less!)
-Speaking of God Gundam, its attacks are sheer epicness. You can even do the Sekiha Tenkyouken God Finger! (That’s what he used to beat Master Asia in the Gundam Fight final IIRC)
-Kampher is amazingly cheap…
-All those units they prominently promoted for the game, the PSP exclusives? Most of them have to be unlocked. Wing Zero Custom and Nataku are available from the start, as are Unicorn, Exia, Strike Freedom, and whoever else you can think of who is in this game.
-Oh and Kshatriya is PLAYABLE. I have yet to fight it though…
-Where the hell is Sinanju?!
-Never pick a fight with the Devil Gundam. Not when its a boss character which is pretty much made up of the ENTIRE BATTLEFIELD!
